Open Mercato Implementation ~ custom CRM & ERP without per-seat licensing

Open Mercato implementation – agency building custom B2B CRM and ERP systems

For years, we’ve been designing and developing advanced e-commerce platforms built on Symfony and Sylius. We understand complex B2B and B2C sales, multi-level pricing, extensive product catalogues and integrations with ERP, PIM, WMS and CRM systems.

Certified Open Mercato Agency badge

Open Mercato is a natural extension of this ecosystem. It takes us beyond the commerce layer, giving us a foundation for custom back-office solutions, CRM and ERP systems, and operational applications that connect customer data, orders and internal processes.

As a Certified Open Mercato Agency, we build around the way your company actually works, without rigid SaaS constraints or vendor lock-in. We weave processes, data and integrations into one coherent system that keeps pace with your sales and growth.

[ About ]

Open Mercato isn’t just another off-the-shelf CRM or ERP

It’s an open-source CRM/ERP framework for building custom business systems and back-office applications. Instead of imposing a fixed way of working, Open Mercato provides a foundation developers can extend around your actual processes.

Out of the box, it includes user and organization management, roles and permissions, multi-tenancy, audit logs, customer and company data models, sales opportunities, workflows, AI agents, APIs and modular extensions.

This means you don’t waste the early stages of the project rebuilding infrastructure that most business applications already need.

We don’t start by rebuilding authentication, roles, data models, APIs or admin tools from scratch. Open Mercato provides these foundations upfront, so we can move straight into modelling your business processes. The framework calls this approach “start with 80% done”. That doesn’t mean a ready-made system. It means a solid foundation that lets us focus on what’s unique to your organization instead of solving the same technical problems again.

Open Mercato doesn’t lock your project into a predefined scenario. We can extend existing objects, create custom business entities, design bespoke workflows and integrate the platform with your existing ERP, accounting software, e-commerce platform, WMS, PIM, payment providers and external services. The result is a system that reflects how work actually moves through your organization, whether you’re managing complex B2B sales, field service operations, manufacturing, investment portfolios or administrative processes.

Open Mercato Core is open source and MIT licensed. You can deploy it on your own infrastructure or in the cloud. There are no per-user subscription fees, and Enterprise licensing is handled per project rather than per seat. After implementation, you retain ownership of the custom code and documentation. This helps you avoid vendor lock-in and gives you the freedom to keep developing the system with Commerce Weavers, your in-house team or another partner.

Open Mercato was designed around AI-assisted development and agentic engineering. Clear conventions, documented architecture and modularity make it easier to use coding agents for repetitive development work and accelerate the delivery of new functionality. AI is an accelerator, not the architect of your business. Commerce Weavers remains accountable for the engineering: we define the direction, make architectural decisions, review and test the code, and ensure the system remains stable as it grows.

What we build

What can we build with Open Mercato?

Custom CRM systems

We build custom Open Mercato CRM systems for non-standard B2B and B2C sales processes. The solution can support companies and contacts, relationships between people and organizations, multiple sales pipelines, activities, tasks, interaction history, files, custom fields and granular access rules. Instead of redesigning your sales process around the limitations of an off-the-shelf CRM, we model the system around the actual customer lifecycle and the way your sales team works.

ERP and central operations platforms

We build ERP and operational systems that connect sales data with production, service delivery, orders, resources and documents. Open Mercato can become the foundation for a central operations platform that replaces disconnected spreadsheets, forms and departmental tools with a system built around a shared data model and consistent workflows.

Automated B2B portals

We develop custom B2B portals for customers, partners, distributors and internal teams. They can support ordering and quoting, advanced pricing and promotions, status tracking, service requests, user management and automated workflows. Permissions and data visibility can be mapped to the actual structure of your organization, including branches, companies, partner networks and individual user roles.

E-commerce back office and advanced integrations

Open Mercato can serve as a central data and process layer for e-commerce, connecting the storefront with the rest of your organization. We can integrate it with ERP, CRM, PIM, WMS and accounting systems, as well as payment providers and external APIs. If you need a central product data layer, we can also build a fully integrated PIM on Open Mercato to manage complex product structures, thousands of variants and attributes.

Our experience with complex B2B e-commerce implementations becomes particularly valuable when a system needs to handle multi-level pricing, thousands of product variants, multiple sales channels, companies, warehouses and customer groups.

Open Mercato workshops – see the prototype before development starts

A standard Discovery workshop usually ends with a process map, a list of requirements and recommendations. With Open Mercato, we go one step further. We combine business and technical analysis with building a working AI-PoC (Proof of Concept) – a prototype developed with the support of artificial intelligence.

Process diagnosis and selection

[ 01 ]

Together, we identify one process where optimization can deliver the greatest value or help validate the most important business risk.

Consulting and AI-assisted live coding

[ 02 ]

We analyse your requirements, design the solution and build the prototype with AI support. You can see the system taking shape and validate how it works as we go.

A working AI-PoC

[ 03 ]

The outcome isn’t just a list of features. You receive a fully functional prototype that demonstrates the key process, data model and direction for further system development.

Decision and MVP scope

[ 04 ]

Based on the demo, we evaluate the results together and define the scope of the first production-ready version. Only then do you decide whether to proceed with the full implementation.

The AI-PoC workshop can also be purchased as a standalone service. You don’t have to commit to a full Open Mercato implementation straight away. The prototype and supporting materials can be used to make strategic decisions, secure a budget or continue development with your own team.

AI-PoC workshop price: from USD 5,500

How does an Open Mercato implementation work?

We don’t start with months of analysis or ask you to sign a contract for a system you haven’t seen yet. First, we build a Proof of Concept (PoC) together. You decide whether to move forward with the full implementation based on a working product, not a stack of presentations and theoretical promises.

  1. AI-PoC workshop

We analyze the key business process and immediately start coding its most important elements. Assumptions are validated on an ongoing basis with both the technical and business teams.

    01 /
  2. PoC demo

By the second week, we present a working prototype. You can go through the key process yourself and evaluate the proposed architecture in practice.

    02 /
  3. Decision and implementation kick-off

You decide based on a functional demo, not blindly. Only then do we define the scope and sign the implementation agreement.

    03 /
  4. Fixed-Price MVP

We build the first version with a predefined budget, starting from USD 35,000. You know the exact cost, scope of work and expected outcome before development begins.

    04 /
  5. Implementation and knowledge transfer

We turn the prototype into an MVP with your specialist, transferring code and architecture knowledge to ensure full independence.

    05 /
  6. Production launch

At around week five, the MVP can start operating in production. From the beginning, you work with a stable system that can be gradually extended with additional modules.

[ Our approach ]

Why Commerce Weavers? See how we work

[ 01 ]

We’re a Certified Open Mercato agency

We know the framework inside out, contribute to the code and actively help build its ecosystem instead of just talking about it.

[ 02 ]

We understand complex B2B businesses

For years, we’ve been designing architectures for complex business processes. The systems we build handle millions of pricing variants, multi-level commercial rules, distributed warehouses and multiple customer groups.

[ 03 ]

We don’t start with technology

First, we organize the processes and determine where the system should support the organization. Only then do we choose the architecture, modules and integration approach.

[ 04 ]

We connect e-commerce with CRM and operations

We know that an e-commerce platform doesn’t operate in isolation. We design the flow of information between sales, customers, orders, logistics, production and after-sales service.

[ 05 ]

We work transparently

We show working results, communicate risks and don’t hide problems behind technical jargon. You know the exact scope, where the project stands and what happens next.

[ 06 ]

We give you independence

We deliver clean code, documentation and the knowledge needed for further development. We can maintain the system long term or prepare your in-house team to take it over.

Open Mercato implementation – everything you need to know before you start

Open Mercato isn’t an off-the-shelf system that forces you to adapt your processes. It’s an advanced open-source framework with a ready-made foundation for roles, permissions, APIs and audit logs. We build a custom system on top of it, tailored to the way your business works.

Open Mercato is primarily designed for mid-market and enterprise organizations with non-standard processes and complex integration requirements. It’s particularly well suited to industries where strict control over permissions, audit history and full technological independence are absolute priorities.

We can build a custom CRM, an ERP system and central operations platform, an automated B2B portal for partners, or an e-commerce backend. The system can also seamlessly connect all of these areas. The shape of the solution is determined by your organization’s processes, not by a closed catalogue of predefined modules.

Yes. We design integrations with e-commerce platforms, ERP, PIM, WMS, CRM and accounting systems, payment providers, communication tools and external APIs. If a ready-made connector isn’t available, we build a custom integration tailored to the required data flow.

The code and custom extensions belong 100% to you after implementation, eliminating the risk of vendor lock-in. You don’t need your own development team if you entrust us with system maintenance. If you prefer to develop the system in-house, however, you’ll need specialists familiar with TypeScript and Next.js.

We build the first working prototype, the AI-PoC, during the workshop within just a few days. The first production-ready version, the MVP, starts from USD 35,000 in a Fixed Price model. Open Mercato Core itself is free and open source, so your investment goes into the work of our development team.

Data migration is a standard part of our implementation process. We design a secure mechanism for transferring historical data, including customer databases, product catalogs and order history, from legacy systems while maintaining full data consistency and continuity of your business processes.

Open Mercato uses AI-assisted development and Agentic Engineering. AI doesn’t take responsibility for the code. It handles repetitive development tasks, significantly reducing the time needed to deliver new functionality, while our engineers remain responsible for a stable architecture.

Open Mercato offers infrastructure flexibility. We most often deploy it in a secure cloud environment, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR. If your internal procedures require it, the system can also be deployed on your own server infrastructure in an on-premise model.

Implementation is only the beginning. Once the system goes live, you can continue maintaining it with Commerce Weavers. We provide a reliable SLA, infrastructure monitoring and rapid incident response. We protect the continuity of your operational processes by taking responsibility for the technical burden of maintaining the system.

Let’s see if Open Mercato is the right fit for your business

Book a free consultation and tell us about the processes that your current off-the-shelf systems can’t handle. We’ll assess whether Open Mercato is the right technology for your business. If it is, we’ll define a clear next step straight away – a workshop, PoC or full implementation.
