Łukasz and Mateusz join Lakion – the first software house developing Sylius. They come under the wing of Paweł, the framework's creator, and his partner Michał. This is when the first commercial implementations based on Sylius are created – still a niche, but already a promising technology.
Łukasz and Mateusz become members of the Sylius Core Team. Their main task is to strengthen the technological foundations of the framework and prepare it for further development. From that moment on, they actively co-create Sylius' open code, having a real impact on its direction and quality.
The Lakion team rewrites Sylius almost from scratch. ALPHA and BETA versions are created, which set a new standard in designing e-commerce systems based on Symfony. At this time, Tymek joins the team. He creates official communication channels (Slack, Facebook, LinkedIn) and step by step builds the Sylius community – from zero to 5,500 active members by 2022.
Sylius 1.0 appears – the first stable version of the framework. Łukasz and Mateusz are responsible for core development, and Tymek leads the first major marketing campaign. At the same time, a product team joins – Sylius Sp. z o.o. is established, a company developing the framework as a full-fledged e-commerce solution.
We help build the ecosystem: the Sylius Partner Program is launched (0 → 65 agencies in 4 years). We train hundreds of developers. Szymon joins – a frontend developer responsible for new versions of the admin panel based on Bootstrap. Today he is one of the pillars of Commerce Weavers.
We participate in the launch of three key projects: Sylius Plus (commercial version of the platform), Sylius Store (plugin marketplace), Sylius Online Course – the main video knowledge source for developers (created by Mateusz).
Łukasz integrates Sylius with API Platform, which is one of the largest open-source projects in the Symfony ecosystem. Tymek is responsible for the first Sylius Plus sales to companies with 9-figure revenues and signs strategic partnerships with PayPal and Mollie.
Sylius exceeds one million installations. We hire our first Country Manager for France – Kevin – who develops the network of partners and clients in the region.
We organize SyliusCon – the first global conference dedicated to Sylius. The event takes place in Poland and becomes a historic moment for the entire community. In December, we officially end our work in the Core Team and establish Commerce Weavers.
Kevin and Jacob – previously associated with Sylius – join the Commerce Weavers team. Jacob develops the core, and we focus on commercial projects. We become an official Sylius training partner.
We finally end our participation in the Core Team and resign from the partner program. Instead, we focus on developing our own agency and clients.
10 years later, we still work with Sylius – today as Commerce Weavers, independent experts with enormous experience.
We are working on a new chapter: systematizing knowledge and building tools that will help other teams develop e-commerce effectively. Sylius remains the best choice for demanding implementations.
Thank you for being with us. See you – at an event, on GitHub, or on Slack.

We didn’t just deploy this framework – we engineered it. We understand the Sylius core at a granular level: every repository, the underlying architecture, its performance ceilings, and how to push past them. This is battle-tested, foundational knowledge that simply cannot be scraped from GitHub.
For years, we shaped the open-source ecosystem by evolving Sylius into a globally recognized framework. As leaders of the Sylius Core Team, we drove the technical roadmap. Our commits helped global brands ship high-availability sales engines. We architected the features that are now industry standards. Partnering with us means tapping into the exact engineers who built the tools. We leverage this uncompromised expertise to build an e-commerce ecosystem cleared of technical debt, free of performance bottlenecks, and engineered for high-throughput scaling.
Years of maintaining the Sylius core taught us how to construct highly decoupled, flexible e-commerce platforms. We deploy this expertise to ship clean code and infrastructures that perform from day one – zero compromises.
We read business requirements and translate them into a robust tech stack. We align your backend architecture with complex B2B sales models, legacy integrations, and organizational workflows.
Our history is proof that quality is not just a buzzword for us, but a daily practice. We build stable e-commerce architectures that ensure zero downtime and generate tangible results.
While we have transitioned from the official Sylius organization, that intensive engineering era is the bedrock of Commerce Weavers. As proud Sylius ex-core architects, we continue to replatform high-volume systems and resolve deep architectural debt. We are ready to inject our technical know-how into your roadmap – ensuring your infrastructure drives your business forward.
